Lal Kuan, a village near the Badarpur-Mehrauli Road in Delhi has become a death zone. Silicosis has massacred around 3,000 people in Lalkuan since 1992. There are 40 million construction workers in India, who are  amongst the most vulnerable segment of the unorganised workforce in the country due to their temporary nature of work and lack of a definite employee-employer relationship. Dhule, Nandurbar and Jalgaon districts make up the Khandesh region of Maharashtra.
